General Summary
To perform professional carpentry work at the journeyman level.
Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Successful completion of a recognized carpenter apprenticeship program or four (4) years (48 months) of full-time journeyman-level Carpenter experience (the trade for this purpose shall include work normally performed by carpenters, millworkers, floor layers, and any other classifications encompassed within the scope of work included in these trade categories).
3. Valid Class D or above driver’s license.
4. A final candidate must complete a post-offer pre-employment physical exam. Employment is contingent on the successful result of the pre-employment physical.
Desired Qualifications
1. Familiar with various types of wood, fastening and anchoring devices.
2. Ability to determine what tool is used for various jobs, as well as properly and safely use them.
3. Must have proficient computer skills.
4. Valid state issued driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Will vary based on openings (either extra help or permanent)
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Ability to climb to heights of 40' or more and/or depths (trenches, hoistways, etc.).
2. Ability to lift 70 lbs.
3. Ability to climb a minimum of 2 flights of stairs and/or 300 feet.
4. Ability to carry 8' of drywall unassisted and 12' of drywall with assistance.
5. Ability to lift weights of 60 lbs. overhead for short periods of time.
6. Ability to kneel, crouch, bend at waist for extended periods of time.

Employees are only paid for hours worked.
There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment.
Extra Help employees are paid prevailing rate per the trade. They may work full-time hours throughout their employment as Extra Help, however they are not to exceed 900 hours.
Benefits include time away from work for eligible employees and the option to participate in the University’s 403(b) Plan
